A call centre in the UK…

A call centre is typically an office facility manned by headset-wearing operators, using computers, and client databases to handle large volumes of incoming and / or outgoing telephone calls with customers for customer service, product, sales or marketing purposes. Where other customer demands, for example, letters, faxes, or e-mails are also dealt with, such an operation may also sometimes be known as a contact centre.

From major corporates, public bodies, and charities through to SMEs, many businesses use call centres to interact with their customers. Sometimes these call centres are managed in house, but often they are outsourced to experts in the delivery of call centre services, both across the UK and around the globe.

Better for Everyone is such an outsourced call centre, based in the North of England. However, at Better for Everyone, we take a dim view of the traditional call centre approach that has earned the industry its awful sweatshop image and reputation for terrible customer service.
